By BBN Staff: Police are investigating an apparent murder reported earlier today in Orange Walk Town, Orange Walk District.
According to police, the body of 57-year-old Steve Gilbert Patten was discovered about 8:45 a.m. on San Martin Street facing San Lorenzo Road.
The Progress Street resident had suffered multiple stab wounds and was left on the side of the street.
Initial police investigation revealed that this morning, at about 1:30 am, Steve Patten was last seen alive leaving from a family member’s residence on Santa Maria Street and walking towards the Old Cemetery before his body was found hours later.
The suspected murder weapon, a knife, has been recovered, and Patten’s body was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
