Woman marries herself in India

By BBN Staff:  Twenty-four-year-old Kshama Bindu of Vadodara, India has become the first woman in her country to marry herself.

Last week Bindu announced that she would be hosting a sologamy wedding on June 11.

However, she moved up the date and married herself on Wednesday.

Bindu had reportedly booked a priest for the traditional rituals for the wedding however he backed out after her story went viral.

“I finally got married to myself at my home on Wednesday evening in the presence of some select friends. To avoid any more controversy, I preponed my wedding. Even the priest backed off following the controversy,” Bindu said.

Bindu has shared photos of the ceremony online.
