Three tropical waves being monitored in the Atlantic; Forecasters urge residents to monitor the weather and be prepared

Posted: Thursday, June 23, 2022. 1:41 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring 3 tropical waves in the Atlantic.

Forecasters have their eyes on a tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic off the coast of Africa, another tropical wave west of Cape Verde, and a third tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea between Jamaica and Haiti.

Meteorologist, Jim Cantore noted on Twitter that the emerging tropical wave off the coast of Africa will garner attention next week as it moves across the Atlantic.

The NHC says that environmental conditions could become conducive to the gradual development of the tropical wave.

Forecasters urge all residents to continue monitoring the weather and be prepared.
