By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Torrential rains overnight and this morning have flooded many streets in the old capital, Belize City, and in nearby villages.
The approach to the Pound Yard Bridge, where many buses stop to load and offload passengers coming into the City to work, is flooded practically all the way to Rogers Stadium. The usual areas in Freetown Road are also flooded.
Earlier Breaking Belize News saw people walking to work along the somewhat-dry sidewalk on Magazine Road come to a sudden stop when they reached a corner in the Southside as the street was underwater.
Looks like it’s going to be a long day.
