San Pedro Town Council: High school beach closed for emergency beach nourishment

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The San Pedro Town Council is informing the public that the high school beach access is closed for emergency beach nourishment.

“This beach stretch is currently impassable, and the continuous flow of traffic is causing further damage to the shoreline. It has become necessary to completely close this stretch of beach to all vehicular traffic for a period of 2 months,” the Council said.

The Council noted that it is working with a team of scientists and engineers to restore the natural beauty of the beach and make it resilient to present and future impacts.

The Council further stated that the process is inclusive and it welcomes input from residents.

“Help us restore our shoreline by respecting the signage and the ongoing efforts,” the council added.
