2022 FIFA World Cup: All four teams in Group B still have shot to qualify; England, Iran have better record

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: All four teams in Group B still have a shot at qualifying to the next round in the 2022 FIFA World Cup though England and Iran have better record.

FIFA has worked out the permutations and this is what everyone of the four have to do to qualify.

“England will qualify with a win or draw. Depending on goal difference, the Three Lions could also make it through in defeat.

Wales must win to have any chance of progressing.

IR Iran are guaranteed to progress if they beat USA.

A draw will also take the Iranians through provided Wales do not beat England (in which case goal difference will come into play).

For USA, it’s simple: win and they are through. Lose or draw and they will be heading home.”

Since these are key games, FIFA has scheduled group games at the same time. So, the two Group A games play simultaneously at 9:00 am and the two Group B games play at 1:00 pm.

Here’s the schedule:

Group B: Wales vs England @ 1:00 am at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Ar-Rayyan

Group B: Iran vs United States @ 1:00 pm at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha
