International News: Mexico to implement new work visa program for Central Americans

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced that Mexico will introduce a new work visa program for Central Americans.

According to Reuters, the temporary work visas will be for those working on public infrastructure projects.

“We need a workforce for these projects, especially if it’s skilled labor. We will guarantee them one year,” Lopez Obrador said.

The Mexican President has lobbied for greater investment in Central America in an effort to stem the migration of thousands annually.
