PUP announces another contested convention

By BBN Staff:  On Sunday, June 17, 2018, the People’s United Party (PUP) held a convention to elect a Standard Bearer for the Albert Division in Belize City.

A total of 938 voters went to the polls at the Anglican Cathedral College (ACC) in Belize City.

After the votes were counted, Senator Paul Thompson emerged victorious with 576 votes while Senator Valerie Woods garnered 339 votes.

There were 20 spoilt ballots and 3 rejected ballots.

This Sunday, June 24, 2018, the PUP will host another contested convention in Dangriga between five (5) candidates; Hilberto Arzu, Erica Jang, Gregory Ovado, Anthony Ramos, and Louis Zabaneh.

The convention will be held at Holy Ghost R.C. School.

Polls will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
