By Aaron Humes: Twenty-four-year-old Stephan Pasos took the rap for a charge of indecent assault on his partner’s sister which was reported on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty before Magistrate Emmerson Banner and told the court that he was intoxicated by a variety of alcohol known as “Spanish Fly.”
His accuser, a junior college student, 21, told police that she had gone to her sister’s home around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and while cleaning the bathroom, she bent down. She then felt a man’s chest touching her back, followed by a hand on her abdomen which rubbed down the side of her left leg.
As she turned to push the person away, she recognized Pasos, her sister’s domestic partner whom she had known for the past four years.
Pasos questioned her attitude and threatened further injury if she told anyone before leaving the premises. She later told her sister of the incident and left, but upon returning, she saw her sister and Pasos arguing, which quickly got confrontational. The matter was reported to the police.
In court, Pasos’ plea was accepted and the Magistrate assessed a fine of $2,000 to be paid by the end of March 2019, in default 2 years’ imprisonment.
