Belize wins gold in football at 2019 CODICADER games

By BBN Staff: Today, Belize’s male football team won gold in the Codicader games held at Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

The gold medal was sealed when Belize beat Panama 7 to 6 in a penalty shootout after regulation finished with a 1-1 tie.

Yesterday Belize defeated Honduras 3-0 in penalty kicks earning the team a spot in today’s finals.

After the 0-0 regulation draw in the game against Honduras yesterday, the penalty shootout followed during which Daylon Gongora, Samuel Miranda, and Nathan Pastrana scored while goalkeeper Terry Reyes stopped three penalty kicks.

On Wednesday, Belize also defeated Guatemala with a final score of 2-1.
