By BBN Staff: After processing a total of 323 samples today, 60 of the samples tested positive for COVID-19, representing a positivity rate of 18.6%. Eighteen of these new cases were in Belmopan, as the number of cases in the nation’s capital has begun to increase.
The detailed geographic breakdown of the 60 new cases is as follows:
Corozal = 1 (1 San Victor)
Orange Walk =15 (9 Orange Walk Town, 2 Trial Farm, 2 Carmelita, 1 San Jose, 1 Santa Cruz)
Belize = 15 (11 Belize City, 1 Ladyville, 1 from San Pedro, 1 from Hopkins, 1 from Santa Rosa)
Cayo = 26 (18 Belmopan, 4 Camalote, 2 Santa Elena, 1 San Antonio, 1 Duck Run)
Stann Creek = 3 (2 Dangriga, 1 from Blackman Eddy, Cayo)
There were 63 recoveries today, bringing the total recoveries to 2,743. Of the total identified cases, 2,173 or 43.3% remain active.
