Minister of Rural Transformation Oscar Requena assists famers in Toledo

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government, along with Michael Espat, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment and Area Representative for Toledo East, assisted the farmers in the Toledo District in getting their produce to the rice mill.

“In March 2021, the commemoration of the commencement of the revival of the rice production program in Toledo was a historic occasion,” said a statement by the Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government.

“After a period of inactivity, the revitalization of this industry currently contributes to the generation of income and increased revenues, as well as the improvement of farms and family livelihoods.”

The Ministry Minister of Rural Transformation said it thanks the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing “for their support and assistance in ensuring that the farmers produce were picked up and delivered successfully”.
