Altitude held to 1-1 draw by Caesar Ridge at Independence in FFB Top League

National FFB Top League sub champion Altitude was held to a 1-1 draw by Caesar Ridge at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday night and they, along with the San Pedro Pirates who also drew on the night, practically let the Closing Championship get away.

Verdes won 2- 1 over Garden City in Benque Viejo del Carmen and, coupled with the San Pedro and Altitude draws, are now just one game away from claiming the Closing Championship. For Altitude, it was also a wasted opportunity since a win could have drawn them closer to San Pedro as well. As things now stand, with three games remaining, Verdes now lead with 21 points. San Pedro follows with 14 and Altitude is third with 11.

For Caesar Ridge, the draw meant the first point in the Closing Championship.

Colombian Andres Orozco converted Altitude’s lone goal in the 39th minute.

Naim Wilson tied the match for the Belize City side in the second half.
