By BBN Staff: Twenty-four Belizean graduates were awarded diplomas in various areas of skill at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Friday after completing online courses facilitated by the National Training and Education Institute of Venezuela (INCES) with support from the Belmopan City Council.
In the first group, 15 women were trained in Cutting and Sewing and in Making School Uniforms and 9 men and women were trained in the Manufacture of Seedbeds and Cultivation of Vegetables in Urban Spaces.
The Embassy of Venezuela says it is the first time the country has offered this course. “Thanks to the use of technology, and the support of organizations such as ‘Help of Progress’, Belizeans were able to access new knowledge that will allow them to have a new livelihood, develop their own business or harvest their food in the patio of their homes,” the Embassy added.
“The relationship between Venezuela and Belize is at the forefront of cooperation in education and social solidarity. We advance in coordination with all those entities that are willing to work for a better society, to offer new opportunities to the people,” a statement from the Embassy said.
“Despite the consequences of the unjust economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela, the Bolivarian Government always supports its true friends and shares its strengths with those who need it most and are grateful. The people of Belize know that they always count on Venezuela,” the Embassy affirmed.
