Jerome Bennett shot dead at home

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man was shot dead at home on Friday night in one of the ‘hot spots’ in Belize City for gang and criminal activity.

25-year-old Jerome Bennett of Elston Kerr Street was in his yard about half an hour before midnight when according to police, an unknown man coming from the direction of Pitter Street Extension approached and began shooting at him.

Family members awakened by the gunfire found Bennett lying mortally injured in the yard from gunshot wounds.

He died on the scene and police continue their investigations.
