Ladyville double murder suspect found “drinking beer” with licensed firearm nearby

By Aaron Humes: According to police, the prime suspect in the double murder of George Vincent Rochester, Jr., 25, and Desiree Flores, 50, today in Ladyville, Belize District, was found sitting on a chair in the midst of the crime scene, drinking a beer.

Police visited Big Mama’s restaurant after 12 noon today and found the bodies lying face up and apparently dead with bodily injuries.

According to police, the suspect got up and approached them, signalling that there was a firearm on the chair. He was immediately detained and informed of his constitutional rights and cautioned. The licensed firearm, make and type not revealed, was retrieved and packaged.

The bodies were transported to the hospital and await a post-mortem examination as police investigations continue.
